On February 2, Vice Mayor Chen Yin visited the Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment to inspect the bureau’s ecological environment work. Huang Rong, deputy secretary general of the Shanghai Municipal Government, participated in the inspection.
 

Bureau Director Shou Ziqi, on behalf of the leading group of the bureau, gave a report on the overall situation of the ecological environment protection work of last year and briefed this year’s overall work plan. Guo Fang, Party secretary of the bureau, reported on the progress of the institutional reform.

Chen fully affirmed the achievements of the city's ecological environment work, and required that the city's ecological environment department should do the followings: further study and understand President Xi Jinping's thoughts on ecological civilization construction; enhance senses of responsibility and urgency in the work of ecological environment protection; improve the overall planning of ecological environment; strengthen abilities of problem awareness, goal setting, advance planning and leadership in regional cooperation of Yangtze River Delta; strengthening team building to ensure integrity and efficiency; improve the ability to eliminate risks; comprehensively implementing the decisions and arrangements of the central government, the CPC Shanghai committee and the municipal government on pollution prevention and control; speed up the implementation of three major new tasks assigned to Shanghai by President Xi. The relevant departments should make contributions in building Shanghai into a modern socialist metropolis of global excellence and influence.
